The 42H3760 contains an SNMP management agent that provides extensive in-band and out of band management tools for itself and up to five Model 8225-001s in a stack
As an SNMP-managed device, the 8225 system has comprehensive fault and diagnostic capabilities and supports complete management for all ports with only a single management unit in the stack.
There are two types of SNMP-based management units available for different levels of management capabilities: Basic Management Unit and Advanced Management Unit. With one Basic Management Unit installed, the 8225 system provides basic SNMP management capability with support of standard MIB II, Ethernet MIB, Novell Repeater MIB, and Repeater MIB for all repeaters in the same stack. Additional management units can be added to the system for SNMP agent redundancy.
